The latest generation of Carbon-2 LED road lights represent years of continuous development and testing at the highest levels of professional rally, track and off-road motorsport. The product redesign and re-engineering delivers more light, less weight and increased functionality, now with the added benefit of UNECE Reg149 approval, making them a superior lighting solution for motorsport and on-road. Available as a ‘SPOT’ or ‘DRIVE’ beam, each light can operate in three modes: HIGH BEAM - BOOST MODE (100% power) HIGH BEAM (100% power, aimed down) HIGH BEAM - REDUCED POWER (25% power) From 2025, there is the option of either white or amber HIGH BEAM light (separate products), with the amber version of the low beam lamp also featuring white and amber backlighting functions. The customer can select the backlight color at any time after the lamp is installed on a vehicle by turning the backlight on/off a preset number of times. The customer can return to the other backlight color by repeating the backlight on/off sequence for this function. Operating in High Beam - Boost mode, the Carbon-2 DRIVE complies with UNECE R149 regulations (Class B high beam) for the use of high beam on the road. The high intensity beam of the Carbon-2 SPOT exceeds the regulated limit and is delivered in this high power state. In order to operate the Carbon-2 SPOT at a light output level according to UNECE R149 (Class RA additional high beam) (25% power), the customer can “program” the light by turning the lights on/off a preset number of times before use. A similar sequence can be used to reactivate the high power / boost mode when the lamp is to be used off-road or in countries where road laws allow a power above UNECE R149. The lamp housing is constructed from high strength and heat resistant PC-ABS material. Thermal control of the lamp is managed by a CAE optimised anodised aluminium element, meticulously designed to maintain optimum and full LED light performance. The result is products weighing just 192g each. Dynamic drive modulation within the lamps prevents damage to the electronic components in more extreme environmental and thermal conditions. Like all Lazer products, the Carbon-2 lamps have been designed, engineered and manufactured in-house, in the UK. There are no compromises in terms of components or manufacturing processes to achieve a superior product. In addition to the lamps themselves, a range of lens covers are also available, including black and white lens covers for daytime protection.
