What the SE+ adds over the Tessera SE

The difference is the rear lighting: an integrated red LED light bar plus the illuminated Tessera logo. According to the manufacturer, the bar can be set up as either a position (beam) light or a brake light, but not both at once.

In practice, the extra money buys two things: a look no other manual roll cover has, and an additional light at the rear, which helps when the cover is closed and the bed is loaded. The rolling mechanism, slats and sealing are the same as on the SE.

• 5 mm side rails shaped to follow the bed rails, with built-in T-slots for mounting roll bars, side rails and cross bars without drilling.
• The no-drill roll bar kit is for light use only, with a maximum load of 75 kg. Heavier loads call for a bolted installation.
• Works with or without a bed liner, including over-rail and under-rail liners, without cutting the rail.

Load space

The canister measures 20 × 23 cm on double cabs and 26 × 30 cm on extra cab, single cab and US full-size trucks. The cover sits above the bed, so you gain usable height underneath. Tessera gives a 3-year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.

Tessera SE, SE+ or Roll+?
