VB-Airsuspension, Dutch Air Suspension for Vans and Motorhomes

VB-Airsuspension is a Dutch manufacturer of air suspension systems for light commercial vehicles, motorhomes, ambulances and specialist conversions. This is a genuinely specialised field, because a converted van has weight distribution that bears no relationship to what the factory suspension was calibrated for.

The problem air suspension solves

A motorhome or converted van carries a heavy, permanently fitted load that is usually concentrated behind the rear axle. Steel springs stiff enough to carry it make the empty vehicle ride harshly, and springs soft enough to ride well sag under load and destroy the headlight aim and the handling. Air suspension resolves the contradiction by adjusting the spring rate and ride height to whatever the vehicle is currently carrying.

Semi air and full air

Semi air systems supplement the existing steel springs on the rear axle, which levels the vehicle and improves comfort at a moderate cost. Full air systems replace the springs entirely and allow ride height adjustment on both axles, including lowering the vehicle for loading.
