HSP, Australian Roller Covers and Ute Lids

HSP produces roller covers and load bed lids for pick-up trucks, developed in Australia where the ute is a mainstream vehicle rather than a niche one, and where the expectations for load area systems are correspondingly high.

Roller covers

The roller shutter design uses interlocking aluminium slats that retract into a canister at the bulkhead. The advantage over any lifting cover is that it can be opened to any position without being removed, so a load taller than the bed sides is still possible without abandoning the cover entirely.

Electric operation

HSP offers electrically operated covers, controlled from the key fob or a cab switch. On a vehicle used commercially this is the difference between a cover that gets used and one that gets left open because opening it is a chore.

Security and sealing

Aluminium slats and a locking mechanism make the bed genuinely secure rather than merely covered, and drainage channels in the side rails carry water away instead of into the load area.
