Hakr, Czech Roof Bars and Boxes

Hakr is a Czech manufacturer of roof bars, roof boxes and carrying accessories, and it occupies a useful position in the market: European manufacture and proper vehicle specific fitment, at a price well below the premium Scandinavian brands.

Roof bars

Hakr produces steel and aluminium bars with vehicle specific fitting kits covering bare roofs, raised rails, integrated flush rails, factory fixing points and gutters. The aerofoil aluminium bars reduce wind noise noticeably compared with square section steel, which is worth the difference on a car driven daily.

Roof boxes

The box range covers a spread of capacities in ABS with central locking and dual side opening, which is the feature that matters most in practice because it means the box can be loaded from either side of the car regardless of where you have parked.

Accessories

Bike carriers, ski and snowboard holders, cargo baskets, ladder holders and straps complete the range.

Roof load limits

Remember that the manufacturer's maximum roof load includes the bars and the box, not just the contents, and it is typically only 75 to 100 kg on a passenger car.
