Brink, Dutch Towing Systems

Brink is a Dutch manufacturer of towbars and towing electrics, and one of the largest producers in Europe. Like Westfalia, Brink supplies vehicle manufacturers directly as an original equipment partner, which means its products are engineered against the same crash and durability requirements as the vehicle itself.

Fixed, detachable and retractable

Brink produces flange ball systems, which take a bolt on ball and accept the widest range of accessories and adapters. Swan neck systems integrate the ball for a cleaner appearance. Detachable systems remove in seconds and store in the boot. Retractable systems fold the neck away under the bumper without anything to remove or store.

Towing electrics

Brink is unusually strong on the electrical side, producing vehicle specific 7 pin and 13 pin kits with dedicated control modules. On a modern car this is not optional. A trailer connected through a generic wiring kit will confuse the CAN bus, trigger fault codes and often disable the parking sensors and trailer stability programme. A dedicated module talks to the vehicle properly.

Documentation

Every towbar is supplied with type approval papers, the D value and the maximum vertical load, needed for registration.
