Metec, Swedish Stainless Steel Protection and Styling

Metec is a Swedish manufacturer of stainless steel bars and protection for vans, pick-ups and SUVs. Scandinavian manufacturing sets a particular standard in this category, because a stainless bar mounted on the front of a vehicle in Sweden spends five months a year in road salt and freezing spray. Anything that survives that is going to be fine anywhere.

Front bars and lamp mounting

Metec is best known for its front bars and lamp holders, developed as vehicle specific structures rather than universal fabrications. The bars are designed to carry auxiliary driving lights and marker lamps in a properly engineered mounting, so the lamps stay aimed and the bar does not resonate at motorway speed. Fitting uses existing chassis points, with the model specific brackets supplied.

Side bars and steps

The range includes side bars, side steps and running boards for vans and pick-ups, in polished stainless or black finish, with rubber tread inserts that stay grippy when wet.

Finish quality

Welds are finished rather than left raw and the polishing is carried through the joints, which is the detail that separates a bar that still looks right after three winters from one that starts pitting at the seams.
