SmartCap, the Modular Steel Canopy

SmartCap is a South African engineered canopy system, and it takes a fundamentally different approach from every fibreglass hardtop on the market. Instead of a moulded shell, the SmartCap is a modular steel structure with removable panels, which means the canopy can be reconfigured rather than being one fixed shape you live with.

Why modular changes everything

A conventional canopy is either on or off, and taking it off is a two person job with nowhere to put it afterwards. The SmartCap's side panels lift out and its rear door and roof sections can be reconfigured, so the same canopy can be a fully enclosed secure box on Monday and an open framework carrying long loads at the weekend. The structure stays on the vehicle throughout.

Load rating

This is the specification that separates it from fibreglass. Because the SmartCap is a steel frame structure rather than a moulded shell, its roof carries serious static and dynamic loads, which makes rooftop tents, awnings, spare wheels and heavy expedition equipment genuinely viable rather than theoretically permitted.

EVOa Adventure is built for overland and expedition use. EVOc Commercial is the work specification for fleets and trades. EVOs Sport is the lower profile styling option. Each shares the same modular architecture and accessory ecosystem.
