Arrigoni 4x4 specialises in underbody protection made from aluminium alloy, produced in Italy for a wide range of off-road and expedition vehicles.

The case for aluminium

A full steel skid plate set on a mid size 4x4 can add 60 kilograms or more, all of it at the lowest and most forward point of the vehicle. That weight eats payload, raises consumption, worsens weight distribution and loads the front suspension permanently. Aluminium alloy of appropriate thickness delivers comparable impact protection at roughly half the mass, and it does not corrode from the inside out when the coating gets scraped off, which every skid plate eventually does.

Coverage

Plates are produced for the engine sump, gearbox, transfer case, fuel tank, differentials and steering components, available as complete sets or individually, with service openings positioned so that oil changes and filter access do not require removing the plate.

Mounting

Plates fix to existing chassis and subframe points using the supplied brackets and hardware, with no drilling or welding required, and can be removed for maintenance.
