TopUp, Hardtops and Tailgate Assist Systems

TopUp manufactures pick-up hardtops and tailgate assist products, covering two of the most practically useful upgrades a working pick-up can receive.

Hardtops

A hardtop converts an open load bed into a lockable, weather sealed compartment. That single change alters what the vehicle can realistically be asked to do: tools stay dry overnight, equipment stays out of sight in a car park, and a dog can travel properly rather than exposed. Specifications to check on any hardtop are whether it integrates with the vehicle's central locking, whether the rear window is heated, whether the side windows open, and whether it is supplied painted to the factory colour code.

Tailgate assist

TopUp also builds the mechanism behind tailgate assist systems, which damp the descent of a pick-up tailgate. A tailgate weighs 20 to 30 kilograms and normally drops under its own weight until the cables stop it hard. Damping that descent prevents cumulative damage to cables, hinges and the tailgate skin, and makes closing noticeably easier.
