DBA, Disc Brakes Australia

Disc Brakes Australia has been manufacturing brake rotors since 1976 and is one of very few aftermarket rotor manufacturers that engineers its own castings rather than buying generic blanks and machining a pattern into them. That distinction is the whole reason the brand exists.

Kangaroo Paw ventilation

DBA's signature technology replaces the conventional straight vanes inside a ventilated rotor with a pattern of pillars, developed from aerospace cooling research. The result is a significant increase in internal surface area and airflow, which lowers operating temperature, reduces thermal stress cracking and cuts rotor distortion. On a heavy 4x4 towing or descending a long gradient, brake temperature is the entire problem, and this is a direct answer to it.

The series

The 4000 series covers street and light performance use with slotted, cross drilled and plain faces. The 5000 series is a two piece rotor with an alloy hat for track and high performance applications. The T3 slot profile is designed to clear pad gases and debris without the crack risk of cross drilling.

Thermal indicators

Many DBA rotors carry a thermographic coating that permanently changes colour once the rotor has passed given temperature thresholds, so you can see what the brakes have actually been through.
