Barnes 4WD is an American fabricator building axle and drivetrain components for vehicles that break things. When a Jeep runs 37 or 40 inch tyres and a locked differential, the factory axle housing becomes the weakest link in the entire vehicle, and it usually fails at the worst possible moment on the worst possible obstacle.

Housings and trusses

The company's core work is heavy duty axle housings, fabricated truss kits, tube reinforcement and bracket kits that turn a factory casting into something that will survive repeated shock loading. A truss ties the housing tubes to the centre section so torque is spread across a welded structure instead of concentrating where the tube presses into the cast housing, which is exactly where standard axles bend.

Suspension brackets and coilover conversions

Barnes 4WD also produces bracket kits, coilover conversion hardware, link mounts and shock mounts for custom suspension work, supplied as laser cut and jig ready parts so a builder can fabricate to a repeatable geometry instead of measuring by eye.
