Leitner Designs, the Active Cargo System

Leitner Designs is an American company that rethought the pick-up bed rack. Most bed racks force a choice: carry gear on top, or use the bed underneath, but not both comfortably. The Active Cargo System solves that by treating the bed rails as a modular platform rather than a fixed frame.

How the ACS works

The system is built around aluminium side rails that mount to the bed with clamps or bolts and accept crossbars, gear pods, bike mounts, rooftop tent platforms and accessory mounts anywhere along their length. The rails carry the load into the bed structure, the crossbars can be repositioned in minutes, and the whole rack can be removed when the truck needs to be a truck again.

Gear pods

The lockable Gear Pods mount to the side rails and use the dead space above the wheel arches that would otherwise be wasted. Recovery gear, tools, fuel and camp equipment go there, out of the bed floor and out of the weather, which frees the bed for cargo.

ACS Forged and ACS Classic

ACS Forged uses forged aluminium components for a lighter and stronger structure with a lower profile. ACS Classic is the established extruded design. Both accept the same accessory ecosystem.
