Bravo Snorkel, Spanish Engineering for Air Intake

Bravo Snorkel is a Spanish manufacturer and a market leader in raised air intakes for off-road vehicles. A snorkel does three things: it lets the vehicle wade far deeper without ingesting water, it draws air from above the dust cloud so the filter stays clean, and it increases intake flow with cooler, fresher air, which improves everyday running as well as off-road performance.

How it is made

The snorkel body is a single piece of thick polyethylene produced by rotational moulding, using ExxonMobil LLDPE 8446.21 with a density of 0.936 g per cubic centimetre tested to ISO 1183. A single moulded piece has no seams to split. The head is a separate high flow single piece unit with water drainage slots and a removable grille, available for 89 mm and 77 mm intake diameters.

Fixings and installation

Nuts and bolts are 316 and 304 series stainless steel with self locking nuts. Mounting plates are laser cut from surface treated alloys for a tight fit, and nylon plugs isolate the plate from the bodywork to prevent vibration and corrosion. Every kit includes ducting rated for high temperature and pressure, plus a model specific drilling template and instructions.

Certification

Every Bravo snorkel is supplied with a manufacturer's certificate confirming compliance with EC legislation, plus an independent engineering certificate issued per model and reference, which is what you need for approval paperwork in Europe.
