WARN Industries, the Name That Defined the Winch

WARN Industries was founded in 1948 in Oregon and is the most recognised winch manufacturer in the world. The company started by making locking hubs that let surplus military Jeeps be driven usefully on the road, and went on to become the reference point for vehicle recovery equipment. When people say winch, most of them are picturing a WARN.

The winch ranges

ZEON and ZEON Platinum are the premium series, with high strength motors, sealed contactors integrated into the winch body and clutch and control refinements aimed at long service life. The VR EVO series covers the value end without giving up the essentials. The M8274 is a classic tall frame design still chosen for its speed and serviceability, and Industrial and Severe Duty models cover professional use.

Why winch quality is not negotiable

A winch under load stores an enormous amount of energy, and the failure modes are dangerous rather than merely inconvenient. Motor quality, brake design, gear train and contactor sealing all determine whether the tool works reliably on the tenth pull of a long day, in mud and cold, not just on the first.

Beyond winches

WARN also produces synthetic rope, Epic hooks, shackles, snatch blocks, recovery kits, mounting plates, bumpers, hoists and the Premium locking hubs that started it all.
