The TEIN EDFC ACTIVE PRO is an electronic control system designed to optimize the behavior of TEIN shock absorbers according to the vehicle’s dynamic conditions. Its technology enables continuous and highly precise damping adjustment, acting on each shock absorber in real time through a set of integrated sensors and wirelessly controlled motor units. The system intelligently manages damping force to maintain a high level of stability, comfort, and control . The driver can switch between automatic and manual adjustment via a central dial, with the ability to store custom settings for instant recall. The speed-sensitive operation adapts damper settings to vehicle velocity, softening response at low speeds and increasing firmness at higher speeds to enhance stability. The longitudinal G-force-based adjustment regulates stiffness according to acceleration and braking forces, controlling body movement without compromising comfort. Lateral force response reduces body roll in corners by proportionally adjusting damping stiffness, resulting in more stable cornering and more predictable handling. The combined mode integrates all three control criteria to deliver a fully automatic response, continuously modulating damping based on real-time driving demands. The control unit features wireless communication with the motor units, simplifying installation. The system offers three levels of adjustment precision , with 16, 32, or 64 steps of resolution, exceeding the standard adjustment capability of conventional TEIN dampers. The EDFC ACTIVE PRO includes a self-diagnostic system that detects communication errors or irregularities in the motor units, a triaxial accelerometer that allows the control unit to be installed at any angle, a lock mode to prevent unintended adjustments, and configurable button sound feedback.
